I go out to my backyard with my guitar and lyrics appear and it's usually completed in less than thirty minutes. In her development as a lyricist Niykee notes that her pain from the past serves as an endless source of inspiration. It's tough to forget memories that are painful from my childhood, and especially losing my younger sister. The memories end up getting included in her songs. It influences my music and provides it with a deeper sense of meaning that I believe is crucial. I'd like to be able to listen to my music 20 years from now and be proud of my words.
